The Wesak Festival
There is a valley in the foothills of the Himalayan-Tibet ranges,
surrounded by high mountains on all sides. Where, at the time of the
full moon of Taurus, Great Beings, masters, disciples, lamas and
knowers of divinity gather. They arrange themselves in circles and
prepare for a great act of service to humanity. The three Great Lords,
The Christ; in the center, Manu; at his right, and the Lord of
Civilization; to his left. As the full moon approaches, a great
stillness and reverence overtakes the gathering. Specific movements
occur and the masters and their disciples form significant symbols,
with The Christ at the highest point or apex. This is done to the
extraordinary vibration from the chanting of divine sounds. This
powerful vibration awakens the souls of those present.
A few minutes before the exact time of the full moon, a tiny spot
appears in the distance which grows in clarity until the form of The
Buddha, bathed in light and color with his hand extended in blessing
can be seen. When The Buddha arrives, a great mantra, used only at the
Wesak Festival, is intoned by The Christ. This invocation sets up an
immense vibration which is of such magnitude, that it reaches the Being
we know as God. It marks the supreme moment of spiritual effort
throughout the year. The blessing is poured forth and The Christ
receives this blessing in trust for distribution to humanity. The
Buddha recedes and disappears.
At Wesak, The Christ and his brother, the Buddha work in the closest
cooperation and harmony for the spiritual benefit of all beings.
Through The Christ, the love of God is manifested. Through the Buddha,
the wisdom of God is shown. In the Wesak ceremony, the universality of
God's love for all beings is displayed.
